Rushworth's hyperbolic bollix

From today's Journal:

Failure to qualify for the Uefa Cup could have catastrophic consequences in terms of the club's future finances and long-term recruitment plans and set the Magpies back another 12 months.>

Set them back about six weeks to the beginning of July and gratuitous entry into a competition about which some key Newcastle personnel had serious doubts.

Yep, I've got the cup-final jitters.

I really hope we trounce them tonight.

I don't want a good game. Just a really easy one.

Me too. I don't want to be watching, feeling sick everytime they go near the goal or get a corner etc. It would be nice if we scored around 3 in the first half, then again, I remember Bilbao so even they we couldn't relax!

BTW re Rushworth's comments...........Talk about being a scaremonger. The man is clearly stupid. I hate most sports writers anyway though.
