I hope this is a joke. I saw this in the press at the weekend. If Gregory and Souness are the only names being linked with us, the god help us is all I can say.

He is very negative about NUFC when on Sky etc. I think he may hae wanted a job with us in the past but was turned down. I think he's rubbish frankly.

It was cold all around,
There was frost in the ground,
When Newcastle broke free,
And no-one survived
From the Souness-inspired
Liverpool FC

Apologies to Roger Waters :-)

Deserving of comment?

Not in language I would normally use on the BBS. (I'll nip over to Softie's and borrow his keyboard).

People please. What is the story? We have the usual enigmatic Swift comment, Lynda says this was in the press. What the hell are we talking about here? Remember that we have lots BBSers in far flung corners of the globe who won't have seen whatever was in these (which?) papers. I sit here just 3 miles from the nerve centre at SJP and it's news (if indeed there is any news) to me.

Some tabloid ran a short 'story' which was picked up on Teamtalk I think. Then there was something from the Blackburn end to say he was happy at Blackburn. No big story, just a little rumour. i doubt there is any truth in it at all. I hope not anyway.

The 'story' was all over the 'net yesterday Jonno - including an article on the Blackburn OS denying it and saying Souness was happy and going nowhere. Must be some truth in it then!

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

Since no-one else wants to tell you Jonno...they're all just alluding to it....the story is that Souness it to be the next manager of NUFC....

Big pile of poo I reckon....

Big pile of poo I reckon....

The story or Souness Gav?

all over the 'net yesterday

Well not quite all over - it managed to avoid this place apparently. :-)

Re Bobby's successor, Bob was hinting he still wants to be here at the start of next season I think.

I saw it on several sites but felt it was such a yawn that I just couldn't be @rsed to post it. Anyway I had a lot of catching up to do after a week away, and in keeping with the new vogue on here, had a whole lot of people to abuse.

Did I do good?

TSM II......nuff said

serious and a little but morbid question.
In the event of a manager dying mid season (Souness ironically could be at greater risk) would or should his team be exempt from relegation?

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

I think that would lead to chairmen bumping off the managers rather than sacking them :-)

SIMPLE:

a non-story to sell a paper on the day of a Newcastle match to Newcastle fans - The People of all papers! And no-one has had the DECENY to quote anything [on here or in the press]. So Swift is right in that sense: NOT DESERVING OF ANY COMMENT.

I saw it, read it, noticed that the only quote was from a 'close friend of Souness' saying something like "he was approached, but is happy with what he's doing"

Now, that sounds to me like he's been approached to mow my lawn but he's happy managing Blackburn.

Reality check....

Robson has had his grey hair for some time now and won't be doing any dyeing I'm sure.
