Dyer

Out of people i speak to, everybody seems resigned to the fact that KD is off by the end of the season/when he's fit. However no-one actually seems gutted! it would be an abysmal decision and a tragedy if we were to let him go. Fuck the money we'd get, fuck bridges.

This end of this bbs is nigh, I'm afraid!

It's becoming more and more indistinguishable from RTG every week.

I am sorry softie, but your response had me in phukin' stitches man. lol.

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2001

Aye. aah agree with you Clarky. It was fine until, well, until you came back from holiday ;-))

Mr. Clark would you check yer email, yer prisoners island one.

I'll reserve my opinion until Dyer returns from injury. It may turn out that he'll never be the same again.

But to tell the truth he played over 30 games last season, managed 5 or 6 goals and had less assists than Solano. Although you can't take statistics too seriously, would you be prepared to swap between £18m and £22m for about 8-10 goals a season?

I would be sad to see him go, but £22m is silly money for Dyer to be perfectly honest and we'd be stupid not to accept. The sad thing is that a lot of ST holders at SJP would probably turn on Bobby if he was to sell Dyer.

In an ideal world, he'd stay, but £22m is a hell of a lot of money. Remember that the most we've received for a single player is £8m for Hammann which looks like a sound bit of business indeed.

Would we be able to spend 22 Million?
The one additional signing that YBR wanted before the season started singularly failed to arrive.

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2001

The Dyer "will he stay or will he go" situation will be decided by one person - Kieron Dyer.
There will be be no point blaming Bobby Robson, or Freddie Shepherd, or anyone else - Dyer will make the decision, and if he wants to go, then he will go.
End of story: goodnight.

syme - got your e-mail, thanks: have responded.

Yeah Clarky, I totally agree, but many fans are will believe the papers and blame the board and the manager.

Of course they would still boo Dyer on his return.

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2001

Dyer is manifestly a trouble maker. However, good a player he is if he or his agent are constantly shouting their mouths off in the press about what the club should and shouldn't do I don't want him.

I mean who the hell is Kieron Dyer after all. He's played about 50 games in the Prem and thinks he can shout the odds at Newcastle and get the club to revolve round him. He spends half his time with dodgy women and the other half on the treatment table. I won't be in the least bit bothered if we flog him for 20 odd million. Take the cash and run before the purchaser realises what a bundle of trouble they've bought.

Too damn big for his boots IMHO.

Do I take it you don't have his name and number on the back of your shirt then Jacko??

Just in case, some of our (younger?) readers are struggling to decipher Mr. Softie's profound posting, I thought I'd help them out:

He spends half his time with dodgy women and the other half on the treatment table.

So he's wasting half his time then?

:-)

hmmmmtwould seem to me to be DIRE or DYER Straits..... and how do you do Mr. Rathbone?

Oh no! On logging on this morning I realise that the ACME Automatic Language Moderator has been disabled. Imagine my surprise to find that I have Typists' Tourettes. We shall all have to be extra careful to censor our own postings before sending them or this sort of accident will keep on occuring ;-)

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

"Typist's tourettes!" LOL - excellent, just excellent Softie.

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

I wonder Jonno, if there is a link between the dodgy women and the treatment table. Perhaps he could create a little more time for playing by having the dodgy women on the treatment table with him, thus killing two birds(!) with one stone (or plaster cast as the case may be).

I'd be happy to conduct some research into this Jacko (in the interests of science).

Actually, a link between some complaint footballers have and their sexual appetites was identified a couple of years ago. Anyone remember this? I believe it was some sort of arthritic knee condition and I've no idea how sexual activity either started or aggravated this (nothing to do with knee trembling - please - this is a serious debate here - really - Hmmmph). Can anyone recall the story?

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

Indeed I can Jonno. It was in a paper published by Professor Horace Arbuthnott from the University of Cleverthings. He claimed to have found a direct link between bonking footballers and the incidence of knee complaints. He did not seem to be able to identify why one knee rather than the other became susceptible to this problem but advocated the use of those funny strap on knee pads much beloved of skateboard users whilst indulging in sexual activity.

I'm being serious here! It was on The Today Programme on Radio 4! And it wasn't April 1.

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

I suppose another alternative is to stop going out with missionaries.

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

.... is that how Dyer got Penalty Area Droop?

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

Oh - I thought it was related to bonking, not just going out with them. Didn't you do any research with PK at the airport Jacko? Missed a great opportunity if you didn't..............er, to increase the knowledge of medical science you understand.

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

As you could probably see from the photograph Screach, I got a very close look at his knees and, as he wasn't wearing the knee pads, I took matters no further in the interests of his career.

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

Too much sex gives you arthritis. I told you! :-)

http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s41821.htm

short extract. When Oyudo investigated sexual history, he found that five of the 10 had had more than 11 sexual partners. "The level of promiscuity among these sportsmen calls for concern," he said. He said that footballers had more sexual opportunities than most: "they are very rich and have lots of spare time."

Must rest now. My knees are giving me jip....

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

more than 11 sexual partners.

Sounds like it was a helluva party.
