The Vikings have just released starting Strongside Linebacker, Gabe Northern and 5 other players including Longsnapper Mitch Palmer.

Green says Lemanski Hall will now start as our SAM with Patrick Chukwurah and Fearon Wright battling for Playing Time behind him.

Also released were NFL Europe standout DT Tim Engelhardt and equally impressive NFL Europe DE Antwone Young, OL Oscar Comeaux and WR T.J. Sutherland.

Brody Heffner-Liddard and Mike Solwold will now compete for the Long Snapper slot. The release of Young and Engelhardt probably means that DT Winfield Garnett has a good shot of now making the team as a reserve.

I was surprised at the Northern cut, but he is more suited to the 3-4 which he excelled in Buffalo. He is a pass rushing LB. I would like to see another LB also. Sauer's foot is hurting again and we could be thin again.GO VIKES!!!

I too was surprised at his release, I heard he was going to be a force that would make us forget about Rudd, Go figure! Also why are we so quick to let him go and yet we hang on to so many dbacks that make other teams drool over a chance to play us!
