Dear Mr Nice Macbeth, Is there to be a webcast tommorrow from the orficial site for the Troyes game? Is there ever to be another webcast of a game? At least that we can all tune into.

I was told last week that Hazel Green who is the person responsible for PR/media stuff at the club was going down (?) to see the people at Premium who run the official web site 'to sort them out'. Now you know as much as I do, and probably have as much idea of whether the webcast will work.

The away leg had the added disadvantage that it wasn't televised in the UK which meant there was an even greater load on the system. It should only be the poor souls living abroad who are trying to get commentary and it may make it easier. May not of course.

We were trying to arrange a meeting with this lady for tomorrow to clarify a few things but we haven't had any confirmation yet of this.

Thank you very much. It seems unlikely that I should be able to access the broadcast tommorrow then - unless only those of us abroad try and tune in.

Glad that they are at least communicating with you!

Bless you, Macbeth, for taking on these issues :-)

I do hope Premium TV(or whoever is responsible for the webcast) doesn't try to use the overload excuse about yesterday's non- webcast. With worldwide television coverage of some kind, there shouldn't have been that much of a load on their server. Probably very little considering the stream wasn't even turned on before kick off. Or the link was wrong. Chelsea's site seemed to have no problems handling supporters of both sides. Other than (obviously) painting a far worse view of our performance than was the case. ;-)

When you get the offical response Macbeth let's compare notes. I can tell you what David Stonehouse told me about the identical situation - last October!

The truth is that they have to tread very carefully with NTL because of the wider relationship - at least that's what I was told.

I'm sure Hazel Green will be well-intentioned but will get the bum's rush by NTL. What is really needed is someone like FS to finally realise how important this issue really is, and secure real commitments from NTL to finally get it bloody sorted.

No prob, MacB. :-)

Won't be able to attempt tomorrow's webcast as I can't listen to audio at work, so perhaps someone else can let us know if it's working.

I e-mailed this to the .cock people. I wonder if I will get a reply.

"Regarding the webcasts, or lack thereof. I realise the webcasts are a free service, but a really important service for Ex-Pat fans like myself. Living halfway around the world, TV coverage is minimal at best, and like a lot of others worldwide I have come to depend on the webcast. Lately the webcast service has been abysmal. I had to tune into the Chelsea broadcast as NUFC/Metro would not work at all. Is this a temporary glitch or can we expect a season of tuning into our oppositions sites for games. BTW the Chelsea webcast was perfect, except for the Chelsea commentators of course.

Thank you

Peter Metcalfe Calgary, Canada"

Dear Freeloader, We are very sorry that you were inconvenienced this weekend. I would like to assure you that we recognise the important part we play for ex-pats like yourself and are doing everything we can to provide the best possible service. However, you must realise that some things are out of our control and the fact that one of our staff forgot to switch on the broadcast before kickoff is likely to happen with such a hi-tech service. Just imagine what it would have been like if you had received the wrong match entirely - and even worse if it had been that of your biggest rivals.

But let me reassure you once again, we are doing everything we can to rectify this and to ensure that when it happens again, we will fix it much quicker next time.

In the meantime, please accept my excuses appologies. I'm sure you will be very pleased to know that I have already instigated an improvement, and you will be receiving detalis of our new subscription service in the very near future. Until this happens (and I'm bloody furious we didn't have it up before the start of the season), I'm sure you'll be very pleased to know that I have personally entered your name in our new fantastic prize draw.

Pete, old boy (double meaning), I might be coming ower to the big C. quite soon; Toronto on business and London, Ontario (on 'business'). I suppose both are a million miles from you (you have 'planes there?) and I could do with a drinking provider / partner?

How's your calendar for the next 4-6 weeks and how soon will it get 'brass-monkeys' ower there?

What is this fantastic prize? A slightly used, no longer required Real Player 8?

Bud, Brass Monkey Weather normally starts around the end of September, and you are right, Toronto is a four hour flight from here. It doesn't look like I will be able to hop into Toronto at all, mind you I can't stand the place anyway. I hear London Ontario is a really nice city though.
