Game tomorrow: who is going?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Also, have there been any indications of attendance?

See you there. Got 2 tickets for a lad at work. Not much chance of late sales now it's been confirmed as being on the telly. So that's at least 4 :-)

Well I guess Paul and his 15 mates are going since he's said so on the other Troyes thread...

Two tickets for bar 1892 before running the gauntlet with the Basque terrorists on the Costa Dorada.

Me, me and me. Oh and me as well. Actually, you'll be pleased to know there's only one of me going (some might say that's one too many). The other 3 mes are Dave L F x2 and Josh. Ee, we might even make double figures

Probably me if my mate remembers to get the tickets.

Actually, that's a fair-sized "if". Downgrade the "probably" to a "perhaps".

They should let loads of kids in for free to fill up the empty seats so that we get the record for the highest attendance at the Final (which will be tight as the record is 52K for 1860 Munich last year), and I think our max is 52300 or thereabouts.

Not going,

As a part time supporter, i'll be watching it on the TV.

It is on the TV isn't it?

Sorry, but they're not letting anyone in free when I've paid £15 without my getting a refund. This is a business not Record Breakers. Can't pay Shearer's wages with a signed photo of Cheryl Baker, can we (although maybe he merits one for that penalty miss)?

the record is 52K for 1860 Munich

This is news. I thought we set the record Intertoto attendance vs Lokeren and then bettered it against Munich? Anyone throw any light on this? I shall be standing up sitting down to be counted tomorrow.

VERY important game. Some UEFA income would be a huge boost to the club and could be a firm first step on the road back to where we were 5 years ago. But the tie can be lost. An away goal for Troyes leaves us needing to score twice and they are a VERY useful side. Even if we go 1-0 up, we would be sweating on a goal which eliminates us so we need at least 2. Hopefully the home advantage will tell for us. Our attack is worryingly lightweight sans Cort and Shearer and our best goal hope Saturday was always Robert who will be absent. Where's Bobby Moncur when you need him?

I'll be there - family outing with me two lads.

Very hard game in prospect against a well-organised and lively Troyes side - especially after the exertions of yesterday.

We set records for each round of the competition Jonno but the record for the final is 52,000 I'm afraid.

Why do I bloody know things like that? Why don't I just stick to discussing lipstick like a proper girlie?

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2001

Yup, as Gav says, me and my 15 mates. :)

Not all at the same end though
