The official FA up-D'Urso/down-Durkin policy

Andy Gray, during the ManUre match, kept referring to the advantage rule being scrapped, i.e. refs no longer being allowed to play advantage. That's the first I've heard of this and it's madness if it's true.

I can just imagine goals being disallowed in favour of a penalty/free-kick that is duly missed. I can particularly imagine it with a certain NUFC being the disallowees and the goals in question being the ones that clinch our European spot.

I never heard that. It can't be true, it's a basic tenet of attacking football. Maybe D'Urso was making the rules up as he went along. In fact I'm sure he was. Bassedas was nearly beheaded in the first 5 mins and a foul not given yet we got 3 or 4 yellow cards for very innocuous stuff. He was consistently inconsistent all game.

I wasn't really referring to D'Urso's specific performance (to use the term loosely) today. More to the fact that this ruling, if Gray for once isn't talking out of his ample behind, will disadvantage the abler referees who can let the game flow where necessary (e.g. Durkin)in favour of officious D'Urso/Barber/Poll- esque tw@ts.

Don't you find the moronic commentary on Sky really annoying? Marwood and that other bloke on PPV today was really moronic. How many times did they mention we had never won in London for 100 years? Thing is if you have radio commentary it is quicker than the TV pics or the other wat round!

Lynda the commentary was rubbish! Could almost have spoiled a rather enjoyable game......fortunately it didn`t quite!

Any comments on the new Nike advert? Another masterpiece I thought! (:o)

Gal, and what about the Travis MTV video ("bun fight") for Sing, Sing, Sing?

Interesting, this may help explain Mr Poll's tendency to blow up for SAFC free kicks on the half-way line when we had the ball in the Ippos' box. I'd originally attributed this to the man's utter incompetence and selective blindness.

I find this extraordinary if the advantage clause has been scrapped. I've not read anything to that effect but if so, it increases the power of the cheats in the game at the expense of flowing football.

Can find nothing about this on a quick search of the web but the following site looks like a great refence point for debates on this kind of issue.

I've seen both of Durso's performances in the last week, and they have only confirmed by earlier view that he's a useless pratt.

Like his alter-ego, Graham Poll, he just has to be the centre of attention, and to achieve that blows his whistle at every conceivable opportunity.

A flowing game of football is entirely impossible when these buffons have a whistle in the ample gobs.

I fear we have an imposter in our midst. The real Clarky would have added another word to that post...
