The World Games is something like an Olympics (in fact it is "under the patronage" of the IOC, whatever that means). The WG includes orienteering with a number of the top elite runners. The US did not send any runners (I'm not sure if the US was even invited). The individual races were won by Hanne Staff and...well, I'll let you check, the men's winner was something of a surprise.

I'm guessing that's sand terrain, but if it is, it is the oddest looking stuff I've ever seen.
