Two Islamic Jihad militants arrested in Israel with bomb

JERUSALEM, Aug 17 (AFP) -

Two members of the militant Palestinian group Islamic Jihad were arrested Friday morning carrying a bomb they intended to set off in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, Israeli security officials said.

The two men came from the West Bank town of Jenin, the sources said.

They were detained by agents of Israel's domestic security agency, Shin Beth, in the Arab Israeli village of Baka el-Gharbyeh, in the Wadi Ara area northeast of Tel Aviv.
