How to work the Leica Meter MC?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi to all the Leica users,

I have a Leica M2 with the Leica Meter MC. My first question is what the two different scales (blue and black) are for and the second one is at what angel does the meter take its reading?

Angle of coverage is about equal to a 50mm lens, the 2 scales are for bright and low light (that being a relative term since selenium meters aren't known for low-light performance). One of the selenium M meters took a plug-in booster on the side, not sure if it's the one you've got.

The MC is a cool meter. No battery. Mine has a switch w/two dots, black and red, which correspond to the two colored scales on the dial.
