We're building the $100 greenhouse with a $50 addition (building/construction)

While deciding to build the $100 greenhouse, I took into consideration the high winds we have here during March and decided to reinforce the pvc structure with 2x4 inch fence wire and pound in metal posts to better protect the plastic and also put them over 2 1/2 foot deep pits so that I can dig a root cellar locker on one side of the pit and a nightcrawler bin on the other side. The pit and 50 gallon drums of water for heat retention mass should work quite well I think.

That is really exciting Jay........we are looking at it also as an extention off the south side of our house. Looking is the operative word here, we do a lot of looking before we decide what to do. No rushing into anything here. ;>)

Is this the $100 greenhouse as was in the latest issue of CS?

I'm building one too! That's a cool design. However, ours might not get up until spring b/c it will take all fall season to get last year's CS cool design (the cider press) built!!!

Please keep us posted on your progress and if any glitches pop up!

Thanks!

sherri,

I'm going to plant an entire "sping crop" this winter in our sunroom, using two 4x2 worm bins to form a SFG square. grow salad veggies and worm in the same tub. This will keep me gardening some in the winter and put my worms through basic training for next years garden duty :>)
