After the abuse/disagreemant/lack of support i got for praising Man City fans look what happened.Newcastle named as the worst fans in england.Hmmm.Of course i know that these figures are misleading but the old adage states that pride comes before a fall. How many are you going to beat us by again? Hopefully that is not pride on my side!!!!!! Anuhow no-one is around this time of night si i have no-one to argue with/annoy/upset.Bloody backshift!

I wouldn't go as far as to say "the worst fans in England". Granted, more NUFC fans got arrested, but then more do show up for a game too (excluding Rob Lee's Tesimonial).

alreet Kev im awake in Sydney .. what was ur point again sorry and Im quite happy to argue for a bit , im wide awake marra , unlike you obviously .

-- Anonymous, August 16, 2001

Grant man, don't tell him you're out here in Sydney. He'll start telling us we're not proper geordies and plastic fans because we don't live in the North East.

Oi, Soops. Haven't you heard the other old adage "Lies, damaned lies and f***in' Mackems"?

Acually, I think you answered your own question. Misleading indeed. Unless of course you agree with the SAFC line of zero tollerance and want to crack down on everything - in which case we beat you ;-))

Kev, as you know, you lot topped the table the season before last and Man United the year before so I wouldn't be too self-righteous if I were you. Furthermore, we won the FA Premiership prize last season for being the best fans (£20,000 which will buy us all a copy of the Ronnie) so we aren't that much "worse" (your word) than anyone else.

There's a massive difference between being arrested and being charged. Apparantly over 90 of the arrests on our tally involved fans who were rounded up en-masse on Wearside on the day of the derby for the odious crime of congregating where they shouldn't have been. A grand total of 5 were later charged. Ok, so these boys probably weren't in Sunderland for a picnic but the whole episode has made a mockery of the arrests league table.

congregating where they shouldn't have been Aye, mebbes on any other day. But on Derby day, surely they're allowed to be in Mackemland?

-- Anonymous, August 17, 2001

Was that Mackemland fiasco connected to the poxy official website which provided that handy list of places to go drinking....which were totally wrong?

-- Anonymous, August 17, 2001

SK - just who is it who has named Newcastle fans as the worst in England? If you are simply basing it on the ridiculous NCIS statistics then I'm afraid I have to point out that the makems are the most disorderly fans in England. They also had three times as many arrests for assault as Newcastle fans and are actually the drunkest fans in England - although I suppose living in Sunderland would drive anyone to drink so I'll forgive them that one!!

With respect to Superkev, how can he expect to be regarded as a serious contributor to this BBS when he starts threads like this as a wind up then beggars off, never to be seen again? He complains in his initial message that he has no one to argue with yet when people respond he hides in a corner and won't answer.

Come on SK - if you want us to take you seriously you must demonstrate the ability to stand your corner on an issue. I bet you still ring door bells then run off and hide behind a wall when the old lady answers!! ;-)

He works funny hours I believe....

I think Nissan conned the workforce into believing that they'd pull the plug if they didn't do daft shift work without the unsocialable hours allowance. They way I heard it they planned to build a new production facility but could do it cheaper elswhere in Europe, so they put out the rumours of big cut backs and generally got everyone to sit up and take note, the government gave out hand outs & the workers to make concessions. You do work for Nissan don't you Soop?

I reckon it's also down to the strictness of the police as well.

In the stadium, I only ever saw three people being escorted out of their seats by police and I went to every home game. 2 of those were at the Sunderland match and the other was at the Man Utd game.

I've seen more away fans being escorted mind you, but does this count towards the total?

However it is calculated, the survey isn't scaring me away from St James' Park for fear of attack.

clearly some of you are unable to read or is it the perennial absence of wit and/or humour combined with the inability to make a half decent point that makes you appear to be buffoons to the rest of the world outside of JORDYLAND.

FACT 1: arrests are ground arrests

FACT 2: YOU WON

eeeerrrr thats it

BTW anyone on this board want to join the likes of Screacher, Joono, Heedinhadns (or whatever) and Gav in making ridiculous spin based comments of sh*te when the fact are staring you in the face.

ALSO BTW..... there will be more arrests afterthe game next week when your "fans" (some of you lot) start fighting with each other again as per FTM ! and FTM 2 and there will be further arrests... not from us as we are well marshalled and policed on the day and tret your fine errrr Stadfium with respect unlike the violent criminal damage that was caused at the SOL in the away end upon your last visit for which your club reluctantly agreed to pay for.....

and errrr I understand that you are unable to sell your tickets for next week's game through the usual seaosn ticvket and corporate network and a very late general sale will commence tomorrow for which many loyal SAFC fans who have been unlucky in the ballot will simply and swiftly nab them because they want to witness FTM 3....

A number of businesses on South Tyneside and Durham have been desperately contacted by the NUFC offices over the last week offering packages that your own "loyal" supporters and corporate folk (supporters!!!) have been unwilling/unable to take up....

sit on it.....

ciao

Fact - you lot are the drunkest fans in the country.

Fact - you lot have the most "disorderly" fans in England.

Fact - you lot had three times as many arrests for assault as ours.

Opinion - these statistics are a load of garbage with which you can "prove" anything you want depending on how selective you are.

-- Anonymous, August 19, 2001

Fact.... you made that all up...

Fact.... one again you prove yourself to be full of sh*t...

adios

Ok Lads...off to the "fight" thread.

Anything constructive to say today Roly?

-- Anonymous, August 19, 2001

Roly - all you have to do is go to the NCIS website and follow the links to Football Hooliganism. It gives the detailed breakdown of all the arrests last season. Try it www.ncis.co.uk

The figures actually show that Sunderland had more arrests for drink related problems (68) than anyone in the league. They show that Newcastle had 23 arrests for "disorderly" behaviour compared to Sunderland's 40. They show that Sunderland had 6 arrests for assault compared to Newcastle's 2.

As I said in my previous posting - these figures are largely meaningless. An apology for you childish response wouldn't go amiss.

thanks Jacko your comments duly noted...

Screacher... yes thanks but most of it you would pass on....
