Quote - "I don't go along with the idea that Bobby hasn't had money to spend."

"Both John Hall and Freddie Shepherd have fully backed their managers with cash right from KK through Kenny and Ruud and now Bobby..... Robson needs a return on that (£16m) plus a return from the players he bought last season. I only hope he gets it because United need to be right up there with 52000 crowds every home game. "

Once, twice three times an employee, now season ticket holder, the one and only Terry Mac speaking in "United Front".

My thoughts exactly Terry ...

Why don't we get Terry Mac back as No.2?

Why don't we get Terry Mac back as No.2?

'cos he can't clap as well as Wozza. Anyway, I don't think he can defend very well either..........hmm, I see where you're coming from, Min.

Jonno - Bobby hasn't always had the money when it's been needed, though - we lost the best young left back in Europe last December and ended up getting Wayne Quinn in replacement.

so it makes sense that Bobby, having lost his top three scoring options last season was satisfied to play the majority of the season with Shola, Lua2, and Cordone, and having the boards complete backing decided not to buy anyone.

Sure... makes a world of sense to me!

Sparxx, who's saying he didn't try for replacements?

-- Anonymous, August 17, 2001

devil's advocate screach... who says he did try and sign someone? The evidence speaks for itself.

Well Sparxx, you little devil you, the evidence of the summer points the other way: Jeffers, Guardiola, Zenden, to name but a few who turned Toon doon this summer. (I use these as examples - not saying they were all strikers to replace his 3 top scoring options).

As you say - who knows - but they have admitted to being turned down too many times. See, that's what you get for being situated so clsoe to mackemland ;-))

pretty sure we never went after Pep knowing his wage demands.... Jeffers was a fool not to sign for us, he'll be lucky to get a touch, and Zenden... well one legitimate star decided to turn us down go to London, only because he's got mates close by JFH, DB etc. and with us not guaranteed Europe, he needs to be high profile in order to be in consideration for World cup picking next year.

Honestly though, Surely if the board had made funds available Bobby would have used them. There could be no posible way he could have felt comfortable with our inconsistent play last year.

Ultimately though, Terry Mac is now just a fan like us so his opinion is as much speculation as anything we have to say...

Well, if he's a mere fan now, he should be able to clap as well as Wozza.
