Audio quality of avi files

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I created an avi file from a flash macromedia software. The file is (180Mb) works o.k. on my pc but when I burnt it on a cd the audio quality gets lost. Is this normal, how can I fix this failure? Thank you

Hi, Alexandra:

I like to use Macromedia Flash, too!!

I wonder what the video/audio compress method you used to export the avi file.

I'd like to give you some suggestions for backup your files to a CD-R.

1. Change the compress method of your avi file. For instance, cinepak, indeo, sorenson...etc. If you use "noncompressed", the avi file on the CD-R will be difficult to be played because the access speed of your CD-ROM may not catch up to the big file size. 2. Export your presentation as shockwave Flash files, "*.swf" instead of avi files. 3. Export your presentation as "noncompressed" avi file, and then compress it to MPEG-1/VCD's *.mpg file. Finally record the *.mpg file to CD-R as Video CD format.

I wonder this answer is helpful for you or not. That's all what I know.

See you!
