Two goals against in 2 minutes. This surely must herald the beginning of the end.

"Typical - you put Johnny Foreigner in charge and just look what happens. It would never have happened if Terry had been given the job that was rightfully his. Rant...foam...bluster..blah..gumph etc, etc." - J. Lovejoy & J Powell, Fleet Street, London.

In all seriousness the first half of this game was a master class in football from the Dutch. They bossed the centre of midfield and were adept at bringing the wide men into the game. I thought that Zenden caused lots of problems on the right but I wasn't that impressed with the quality of his crosses. He may have impressed more if played on the left; the time bringing the ball back onto his left foot slowed the momentum of the Dutch attack somewhat.

In the two games I have seen him play this week Ruud van Nistelrooy looks a great player. Good intelligent movement right across the front line and a good poacher. He seems to miss a few chances but, given the service he will get at Newton Heath I could well see him hitting 25-30 league goals this season. Taggarts smirk will surely be a little wider tonight.

Edgar Davids - does he have a problem with his eyes or just enjoy looking like a complete tw@. I could just about grasp the concept of wearing sunglasses to play football on a sunny afternoon but unless there is a medical problem I don't quite see the need during a floodlit game. They get to your eyesight eventually these steroids you know.

Sponsorship??

I don't think I saw much tonight to give me much hope against the Jormans. I guess (he said, clutching at straws) we'd be bliddy unlucky if Hermann playes as well as Jos did in the first half. Hopefully, we can take two things from this game - (i) the squad got together for 2-3 days tho I think it was a mistake to give young Harry Greaves (Jimmy's lad??) a debut out of position and (ii) we probably learned how not to defend against a very creative midfield. Oh yes - Mark van Bommel interviews better than David Beckham.

To be honest, tonight's England performance remenided me too much of many NUFCperformances over the last 2 seasons. Sh!t!

Edgard Davids has glaucoma - he wears the specs for medical reasons and has done for a couple of years now.

Did you all see my mate Patrick Kluivert? I taught him everything he knows.

Thanks Jacko. I thought this may have been the case and feel a bit sad at being so scathing now.

I think Davids eyes is okey now but he wears them anyway. He got used to them he says.

I think I'd be especially worried if the refs started running round looking like that. :-)

I didn't think glaucoma was something that ever got cured, only treated and sometimes goes into remission.
