working with RSD

Has anyone done much work with people that have RSD,Sudecks Atrophy I have been treating some people with this condition, and I am having good results by applying cups and massage. Iwould be very interested to hear from other therapists on this subject.

Hello Brett, it is nice to see that you are getting some good results with RSD and other related conditions. These people suffer so much pain and disability it is good to know that they can get some relief from your massage. Obviously every patient with this syndrome has differing levels of pain and suffering and each must be treated accordingly. I would be interested to know what you are doing with your massage.

I think that your use of cupping is brave, or even perhaps unwise. RDS or complex regional pain syndrome can occur from very insignificant trauma. You are treating people who already have the condition by causing undeniable trauma to the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The condition flares up and calms down and the messages you give your client about their progress and status is very important. These people need to be in touch with a large support team all of whom speak the same language so that they do not get mixed messages about their condition and their chance of recovery.
