Allocation

Looks like we only asked for 1500 for the Chelsea game. Sold out straight away. We were offered 3000. Could probably have sold twice that number. Haven't we been here before? Blackburn in the cup? Charlton in the league etc. etc. etc.

Seems like nothing changes.

An old chestnut I know - but something for your committee to raise MacBeth?

I also recall something about full away allocations being taken up being announced last year. 1500 is disgraceful. Make yer voices heard, lads 'n lasses!

Wasn't there some talk after Leeds last year that they'd never do this to us again? I'd just like to know the reasoning....from what I can see it's crazy...

Wasn't the story last year that the club got offered a small allocation on a sale-or-return basis. A further allocation was to be pay up front. If it is the case this season, I could understand the club's reluctance to stump up £50K or so when the match is being televised on PPV.

Come on Screach man - we could easily have sold 3000 for this game - if only the club would show the same faith in the fans that we show in the club we might start getting somewhere.

It will be raised

You might think so DSS, but the money men might think differently. £100K (the approx cost of 3000 tix at £37 each) would pay Alan Shearer's wages for 2 weeks ;-) Remember, AFIK, the club makes no money out of selling tickets for away games. Chelsea is expensive, its still summer so a lot of folks might be on hols/have no money left, and it's on TV. If I were a cautious businessman rather than an emotive fan, I might do similar. Only my HO tho ;-)

Chelsea are notorious for doing this, they will give a small allocation on S or R then a larger one with no come back. The club were seriously stitched up by them a few years back. Added to that Chelsea charge a fortune to get in.

I always thought, if the INUSA were organized enough, they would get involved in the selling of tickets for away games subject to a handling charge. After all it would mean the like of Miles putting money where his mouth was.
