Do you want a big one, a small one, do you need lots of power, or no, and do you just want to use it straight in the shoe, or do you need lots of versatility and accessories? Generally, versatility and power are had at the expense of weight and cost. Is price a consideration?

First, there's the question of power. What do you want the flash to do, how big can you accept? Second, unless your M2 has had its flash sockets converted to standard PC, you'll need to get an adaptor for the X-sync plug, and either a flash which accepts a PC cord, or another adaptor which has a PC cord and converts the "cold" shoe on the M2 to a hot shoe. My recommendation for a small, light flash is the discontinued Vivitar 253. It has both a hot-foot and a PC cord. For a more powerful flash the Sunpak 383-Super (same power as a Vivitar 283, smaller footprint).
