Must have help... cannot figure out how to set popUp javascript...

Any of you out there Dreamweaver experts? What can you do? What do you need help with? How many of you would like to sling your computer out the window?

I can help you. I know all about Dreamweaver and javascript. See, you mash the enter key at the same time that you hit the shift key while holding down the ctrl, alt, delete. However, you must be clicking on both the left AND right mouse at the same time you are scrolling. Now, I have found that to be able to do all those things at once, you must use your tongue nose but on opposite sides of the keyboard.

It works for me. Let me know if it works for you. If not, I can have Don take your computer down to Kinko's when he does his and they will do it for you.

For those of you who are wondering, that should be tongue AND nose. Contrary to what Al might have told you I do NOT have a tongue coming out of my nose.

Just go to Mr. Pharmacist Rock Star and gank the code. He has popups for his questions/answers.

AB, I had already tried that. You'll have to tell me.

Al, I found that if I had more than one piece of Javascript code on my site, they did funky things to each other -- the only way I managed to correct them was to take them out and put them back in one at a time (this was direct HTML into Diaryland's template, not Dreamweaver). (This is also why I have two little rainbow stat boxes on my site rather than one.) I got my code from Javascript City, if that helps.

Pischina also gave me some tips.

Here's a popup window maker. It will automatically generate the code for you. Wow!

AB, I'll try that. But you know I don't know how to do anything.

It's very easy. You just answer the questions and then follow the directions. Crazy.

Good God. I did it. And I just updated. And it took a year. But, success! Hooray!

Dreameavah make me CLAZY.

Okay. I used to have layers, but as they were getting all flocked up, I just switched to a table. I copied code that AB had manipulated for me and just did save as. But for some reason, the (div) tags didn't stay. I don't know how to do! If anyone knows how to make the text box resize with the window in my 20th entry please share? Either in straight code or Dreamweaver.

Also, style sheets. ARGH! I created them. I saved them, but are they doing what I want on that entry? No.

Help!

Hi Hannah,

I did some poking around at your code and I see a couple things that could maybe fix your problems.

First, each style sheet must be saved with a ".css" extension. You'll then need to edit the link rel line of your code to add the .css to your style sheet's name.

Second, I'm not quite sure what you mean by wanting your text box to resize, but you might like the way the text displays in the table if you increased your cellpadding value. From the looks of the width of your table, I'd suggest a value of at least 10--I'd probably go with 20 or even more.

Hope that was of some help at least.

Oops! I forgot something.

You have your style sheet comment in your code twice. You should delete the one that refers to the sheet on your own C drive (it's the first one after your /script line). I believe that would also fix the javascript error I get when your page loads.

I'll shut up now.
