Blackburn-Barca

Just finished watching live coverage of this on Fox Sports (South America version) - backpacking just isn´t what it used to be ! ;O))

Anyway it looks as if Souness has built up a fairly impressive and very well organised team which should do OK this year. On that performance at least they will give the likes of us a good run for our money. And who would have thought a team spearheaded by Keith Gillespie & Nathan Blake would get any respect but they actually weren´t too bad playing alongside some new long-haired Italian (I think?). As always, Damian Duff worked his socks off on the left hand side and put in plenty of effective crosses. He´s not the silkiest wide player you´ve ever seen but would have been a great acquisition by two thirds of the Premiership (including ourselves)

Loony forgot to post the score - it was 3-2 to Blackburn, with Mark Hughes scoring a late winner.

I saw Blackburn a couple of weeks ago. Best player on the pitch was David Dunn. Best striker, thought I hate to say it, was Matt Jansen. They also had some greasy Italian playing up front who looked like Marco Del Vechio and played like Rod MacDonald. they paid £7 million for him apparently!!

£7m????? Blackburn still have that kind of dough?

The Italian looked OK to me before he went off injured. Not afraid to run at the heart of the defence, something you rarely see done (well) in the PL. I don´t think Jansen featured against Barca - or if he did he obviously made no impression whatsoever on me :O))
