Is anyone here familiar with Melaleuca Inc., both the products and the company? I would appreciate any info, good or bad, as I am considering joining this company. Thanks so much, from a former lurker only! Carla

Response to Melaleuca

Hi Carla, Melaleuca Inc is just 25 miles from me. They really have grown in the past few years and they do employ a lot of people. I used to use some of the stuff and signed up as a distributor years ago, but that just isn't my thing. I thought the items were expensive and weren't all that great. Just my opinion though. I don't know anyone that uses it either, nor have I met anyone rich doing it either, maybe I just don't know the right people. They put on an incredible 4th of July celebration that attracts thousands every year to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Carla, if you just need tea tree oil, you can purchase it for less than 5 dollars for 2 ounces at Wally World in the pharmacy section.

Dear Carla, I am a registered nurse who uses most of the Melaleuca products. They are a real help to those who have allergies, asthma, and diabetes. Please feel free to e-mail me with any specific questions. Loretta

My friend Robin is a distributor - she doesn't sell for profit - she orders for herself and friends. I especially like the laundry detergent - it is great. I like the toothpaste also and pet shampoo, but I didn't care for the shampoo and conditioner or the dish detergent.

Do you LIKE being a salesman? I had an opportunity to get involved with Melaleuca, but I remembered how it soured a true friendship when a friend got involved with Amway. I dont want my friends to think I am after their money when I call them up or stop in. Now, admittedly, I sell things from our homestead here. But that is different. I do not go looking for egg or milk customers; word of mouth is enough. I do have a sign out when egg production is high, to bring in more customers. But to become a salesman to my friends is the last thing I would do. My friends mean too much to me for that.

We used to order from the company, products were fine but rather costly. One thing I didn't like was that you had to buy a specific number of points each month, no matter what. This is basically the reason we quit because sometimes we just didn't need anything or didn't have the extra cash. I don't use many cleaning products anyways and most of the other products can be purchased for a lower price locally, (vitamins and etc) Most of the ingrdients were exactly the same but 1/2 the price. If you don't have easy access to stores and want to purchase from a mailorder company they are easy to deal with though.

I have just started my own melaleuca business...I really like the products and want to work it as a business...my father works it as a business and makes 150,000 a year...I am not scared to tell my friends about it...because I am not trying to sell somthing in my mind...I have seen alot of good things from the products and think it would be a good opportunity for my friends as well as me.

Good products but way too expesive. I just buy tea tree oil & use it straight or mix with creams or whatever as needed. Just don't use it on cats - it doesn't agree with them & can kill them.
