UEFA REJECT TROYES' SOLANO APPEAL

Newcastle are free to concentrate on their Intertoto Cup final second leg against Troyes after UEFA threw out an official complaint from the French club regarding the eligibility of Nolberto Solano.

The 26-year-old South American has been embroiled in controversy over reports that he is to be charged in connection with an investigation into passport irregularities.

It is this which prompted the appeal from Troyes which was as unexpected as it was unlikely to succeed.

A UEFA spokesman said: "UEFA have rejected the complaint from Troyes regarding Nolberto Solano.

"The player is Peruvian-registered, he has got a license from the national association and there was never any problem at all."

The two sides played out an acrimonious goalless draw in France with Newcastle also complaining about the treatment of their supporters during the tie.

Like i told Clarky and our friend Super - (NCA Breda 4 - Sunlun ) ) had to slip it in !! plant shutdown , then you come in from Singa`s and thoughts wander to a pint of tiger while waiting for a tureen of nasi goreng from the Halfway House Hotel at Bukit Timah . Amah`s market on a Monday night , chit chats climbing the wall , watching in those far off day`s the one of few programmes in English on TV , The Andy Williams Show. Playing football under the lights at Terror, Three tonner from Sembewang across the Mandai to pick the wife and other spectators up, no coaches then I`m afraid . Diving from the balcony into the swimming pool at the Brit Club, full of drink , not me Guv to the CO next morning , him sitting there ready to play his ace hand , photo`s to prove it, Apart from not seeing the lads play, you are a lucky man Bud , pinging tween Singa`s and Honker`s, a matelot`s delight , least was then,

Oh how the mighty have fallen! The delight that Buff takes in a defeat for Sunderland in a pre-season friendly is quite something to behold.Lets hope that this is not an average badgers pride before a fall.Well no scratch that, lets hope that lightening strikes for a 3rd time come the 26th of august. One question though. If we win at Sid James 3 times in a row ,do we get to keep it?
