Some time ago, there was a discussion about supporters who switch clubs in pursuit of success. "Why don't you give that lot up and follow a team with more chance of winning something?", kind of thing. Somebody used the analogy that doing that would be like going to the school sports day and supporting somebody else's child because they had a better chance in the egg and spoon race. Very nicely put, I thought, and certainly struck a chord with me.Thing is, I'm writing something at the moment, and would very much like to use this. However, I can't remember who was responsible now. If any of you can remember saying it, or who did, please could you own up? I'd very much like to give credit where it's due.

Very nicely put, I thought, and certainly struck a chord with me.I'm shocked and dissapointed. So who's child did you support in the E & S race then Bill? :-)
Sorry I don't recall that one - it's a beauty. I've always thought that an argument about the best football team to support is like arguing "my mam's better than yours". We can almost all claim to have had the best mam in the World, and it would be rude to contradict.
