ATTENTION! PROBLEM WITH THIS BOARD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

I have reset the board to show the main list of questions with the oldest on top and the newest on the bottom, just like CS used to be.

I hope that is temporary, but it is the only way I could find to solve the problem displaying the 'replies'. They were displaying with the most recent answer under the original post, and the earliest answer at the very end of the thread. When I checked earlier, CS was NOT having this problem, but A Village Commons was. Phooey!

So now we just need to stand on our heads and read! Really I thought Jim was back cuz I saw his name at the post at the top tonight. I said "Jim!"

Maybe one of the computer geeks at Lucenet are having fun with us huh?

Well, I'm really sleepy and I can't keep my eyes open. We'll see ya in the morning.

The weird thing is that CS seems unaffected. At least, they were last time I checked earlier this evening.

Whew! I thought my vacation-addled brain was short circuiting.

I just took a gander on over to CS. I would rather stand on my head and read old posts here than to read some of the newer weird stuff being posted over there. Glad I don't have that much time to surf these days!

YAY! It's fixed! Here is the explanation off our Administration page:

09 August 01 - For Q&A forums, I added a new administrator option to control the order in which responses to questions are presented. Due to a mis-understanding on my part, this messed up thread presentation for a few hours today - but I think I've got everything back to normal now, plus forum administrators now have a new choice. If you want responses to be ordered differently than they are now, change the Answer order option (see the How Threads are Presented section, below).

Everything is back to norbal!

Goodie! But that dosen't mean WE have to be norbal, does it! I like being un-norbal, a few bales shy of a ton, if ya know what I mean!

I am DEFINITELY norbal! That wasn't a typo -- it's the last line of a piece from Mad Magazine (from my delinquent youth) chronicling a trip on LSD (I think that was the drug). I always took it to mean that things might SEEM normal, but could revert to not normal at any time. ;-)
