When my grandmother died, she left me a silver creamer, with "Southern Railway - Car Virginia" on one side and the "SR' logo on the other side. There was a letter inside that decribed how my grandfather was given this creamer by the president of Southern Railway after he pulled the president out of the dining car which was under water of the South River in Clayton County, GA (near Ellenwood, GA). My grandfather, father and uncle were rabbit hunting near the trestle when the train crashed over the side and into the river.

All we know is that it was probably in the fall, on a weekend, in the late 20's or early 30's. Trying to find out any information about the wreck, why it happened, casualties, when did it happen, what was the name of the president, was he OK, etc., etc.??
