Training - where are the first team training?

Just wondering like as Lolo has twice said that the facilities are really good (see last week's and this week's interviews).

I believe they are training at the Civil Service ground next to Blue Flames on Whitley Rd in Longbenton. Unfortunately, you can't get in to watch them.

The British Gas' Blue Flames facility is next to Darsley Park where the Academy will be established.

Have we actually bought this civil service ground, then? The only reason I ask is that there have been numerous whinges from civil service league players about NUFC being autocratic in taking one of the few really good grass root facilities...

I shudder to think what PSG's facilities are like. Apparently Lolo was impressed by the weights room and a tennis court. Does tennis help footballers?

"Wow, shower room AND hot water? You guys must be very lucky."

No, I believe we're renting it Dougal - it's part of the huge DSS complex on Whitley Rd.

There was some whinging in the Press from a local amateur team who had been advised they wouldn't be able to continue playing at Darsley Park because the Toon had bought it.
That's life boys - blame the previous owners for selling , not NUFC for buying.
