Possible doping at the WOC

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Apparently one of the runners at the WOC is in trouble because he did not go to the doping control after the short final. The organizers called for Mikael Mamleev but he never showed up. According to the rules, if you don't show up, you are considered positive. The organizers reportedly tested Mamleev later during the day, but after he had already left the competition center. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Good news. Mamleev has been cleared. His doping test was negative. In addition, the IOF controller at the WOC had given the runners the go ahead to leave the competition. Mamleev didn't actually violate the directions his team leader had been given by the IOF controller.

More good news...all 28 doping tests at the WOC came back negative.
