Lens hood and filters for 50/2.8 Elmar collapsible?

New to the Leica world here...

What would be the correct hood be for the 50/28 Elmar collapsible, Leitz or otherwise?

What is the filter size used?

Thanks!

I should have noted it's an older Elmar - 5cm noted on the lens front...

Same as the Summicron.

E39 , man!

The filter size is E39 and the front of the lens is 42mm in diameter with a groove to hold accessories. So any screw in lens hood (such as the latest 50/2.8's 12549 or 12550 and also available in the aftermarket from B+W, etc) or any A42 hood (such as the 12585, ITOOY/12580, ITDOO, IROOA/12571 or 12538) will work. My favourite is the 12585 (metal) or 12538 (plastic) which is an inverted cone with cut outs for the viewfinder. It reverses on the lens for storage and then you put a 14033 hood cap on for protection.

Cheers,
