STOP DOWN METERING PROCEDURE FOR EOS 3

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I need to find out the exact steps for using Stop-down metering with the EOS 3 body. I need to use it for a non-dedicated slide duplicating lens.

I think all Canon EOS cameras do this about the same way.

1) Mount the lens with it's adapter (usually T mount or 42mm Screw mount).

2) Turn the camera to either Manual or Av mode.

3a) If you use Av, just set the aperture to whatever you like and the camera will select the shutter speed.

3b) If you use Manual mode, set the aperture to whatever you like and the meter in the viewfinder (or on the top deck LCD) will indicate if you should use a faster or slower shutter speed. Set it with the dial on the right side of the camera.

4) Focus & take the picture.
