Our fame precedes us...

Mykkland has apparently said that he has watched us on the telly since childhood and we are always booing someone. He takes it as a compliment that we booed him... Are we ALWAYS booing someone? We won the FA Carling prize for being the most sporting supporters last season so you would think not...

Does he know WHY he was booed? Does he realise that he should not have been playing in the fixture dur to the unpunished red-card offence on Bellamy?

Still - he was worth seeing though but, a very canny player.

No, he said he hadn't a clue why we'd booed him. I agree - I'd have him at the Toon tomorrow...

Ahem Dougal! Wouldn't Aaron get jealous ;-)

...........besides, I think the groundsman might object ;-)

I think that the groundsman would be very supportive. Mykkland could carry out his own form of pitch inspection by knocking players up in the air and checking the indentation when they land.

Erik Mykland was a hero on the norwegian national team. While he is dead serious on the pitch, he has the tendency to do stupid things outside the pitch. He smokes 10 cigarettes a day and fancies a beer now and then. Those things made the national team managment pretty mad, and he has now given up his international carrier. A real shame if you ask me. He has always been a real bohemian.

Roxy, So are you now saying that he's Irish??

Actually I thought Mykland was extremely average!
He ran around a hell of a lot demanding the ball, but when he got it he invariably passed it sideways or backwards. He achieved absolutely nothing imo - in contrast to Hassler who made numerous clever, and occasionally decisive, passes despite Aaron's attention - principally due to Hughsie generally giving him several yards too much space.

Disagree, though Hassler went deeper and deeper and made his incisive passes on the half way line :0)

Apart from handling the ball, I can't remember Hassler doing anything. But then, I would say that.
