Ferdi is deemed too young by Glenda, but i think his experienced head is just what our 'young guns' could do with. Also, he has to be one of the most popular ever players at SJP, doesn't he? but should we?

We have had enough bother clearing the treatment table without Sir Les adding to it. And a faded star is not want we should be aiming for. Besides, given his fitness record and the likes of Shearer, Robert, Cort, Ameobi, LuaLua and Bellamy he's not likely to figure very strongly.

Now, if he took a coaching position...

I reckon he'd do better than what we've got for a year....I'd go for it...

Les is a top blerk and would be a great influence on the likes of Ameobi, McMeniman, Offiong and Chopra, and would provide good cover for AS & CC. If he's on a FT, I'd certainly go for him for one season.

It's a bit regressive, I feel. Besides what impression would it gvie to Mssr Lolo?

Not many make successful comebacks - Elvis is one.

come again?

It is a slightly regressive move Bobby, and I certainly wouldn't want to spend serious money on him. However, he is very much a proven commodity, and a positive influence in the dressing room.

Little downside, and some potential short-term upside imho.

Regressive like Sheringham or McAllister

The difference between Sir Les and Sherringham/McAllister is that they have played for the last 2 seasons and he has been injured. Not a good signing IMHO we have Cort and Shearer (big and strong), Ameobi (big) and Bellamy. We need a natural poacher (Fowler), someone with speed (Fowler) or someone with a bit of creativity (Kanu).

I was in a cab going to WHL last season and the cab driver was a Purs fan and he said that he and his mates ran a sweepstake on the point in the game at which Sir Les would knock himself out as he does it so regularly. Love him, but the time he could do a job for us are over..
