Um, there's a horrible heatwave at the moment--even the Queen Mother is suffering from heat exhaustion. Those temps are centigrade (same as celsius) so it looks freezing over there. Highs have been in the mid- and high 80s, which is unbearable for most Brits--like me! People don't see me much in the summer. Mind you, I do remember it snowing in June one year. . .

On the other hand, it's a surprise to see palm trees and sub-tropical flowers in Cornwall and other places on the west coast of England.

Anemia too.

I was amazed to see that she doesn't even have air conditioning in her quarters for a heat wave like this, just fans and windows.

You'd think being the Queen Mother would get her some perks like that...

It's very rare to have such a heatwave in Britain, especially one that lasts so long. It wouldn't be cost effective for homes and small businesses to have AC. However, such temperatures have become more common in the last few years, which is why Brits in general believe in global warming. Apparently, flora and fauna, once seen only in southern England, have been creeping gradually north.

He he he, so...can you tell I've never lived in England. Now I understand why so many of my relatives, that are from England, moved to Northern California instead of Southern.
