UK: EXAM FEAR AFTER GLITCH

FEARS over the accuracy of two million exam results surfaced yesterday after an examination board's computer crashed.

The GCSE and A-level papers were inaccessible for three days when the whole process for deciding grades ground to a halt.

It affected results at the Oxford and Cambridge RSA Examination Board weeks before they are due to be sent out this month.

A source claims markers were in a panic to finish before their deadline.

He added: "If I was a candidate, I'd be worried."

But the board said: "No one's marks were affected. We are confident of grades and their timely delivery."

Yeah right...who's to know. Looks like another dog and pony show, kind of like seeing a package in the store that reads, "50% more free"...How do you know?
