A teriffic story. It's good to have a legitimate hero now and then. Personally, I'm sick of anti-heros. He should change his name to Jack.

He should be mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. What an accomplishment!

Bike champions Greg LeMonde and Lance Armstrong have both had testicular cancer. Biking has also been implicated in other aspects of male health.

LeMonde said something the other day about being dissapointed when he found out about Armstrong's association with a doctor who's been linked to performance altering drugs. He said he'd prefer not to comment on Armstrong's last TdF win because of that association - the quote was "if he's clean, it's one of the greatest accomplishments ever. If he's not, it's one of the greatest frauds."

Strong words from a fellow American. As far as I know, Armstrong has passed every test he was required to take, correct?

Bemused--

I saw part of an interview with Armstrong on Sunday. The drug issue came up. He very calmly said (in effect) it was BS. I didn't know LeMonde was saying such things. What I had heard was that the European Press had raised the question in a sour-grapey way.

Aren't illegal drugs discerned by testing?

LeMonde can kiss Lance's remaining testicle and both of mine.
