Oh, I rarely get the itch to discuss movies and celebs, but when it hits I want to be able to scratch it. But no! Fametracker forums are doooown.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Oh people! It be almost 11 EST. Alas, I am destined to spend this Friday alone. Alone!

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I'm here. Sort of. I keep looking for jobs and pretending someone might actually call me on one of them.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Are you off the microwave desk?

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Funny, Al, I'm doing the same thing...

Bitches betta have my money, is all I have to say.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I have rigged up a set-up here where I am now on the couch in the "library" instead of at the microwave. It is far better, but I'm still on a dial-up connection, so it still sucks ASS.

I dealt harshly with the cable company the other day, but that connection still seems to be down. They are trying to kill me.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Of course, as long as I'm on a dial-up, I can't hear the phone NOT ringing.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Al, have you checked the Monster freelance boards? Lyn told me they have a bunch of stuff, and some that is full-time. I am about to go look over there.

Okay, uh, -A--... (Damn, can I even dream about a day of MATH +1 again??)

I had an idea and ran it past the An Bei and this is it:

What do y'all think about a MATH forum for others to post on? I think there's a lack of a good, fun forum now that squishy is gone. (Well even in squishy's last few months even.) We're all smart, but we're also all fun and funNE. We could start out using greenspun, and if there's enough of a response, think about moving it. If (no, WHEN) we make the move to a magazine, we'd already have a consistent readership.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Why, Hannah! What a great idea! Hee.

If we do this, I think for sure we'll need to start another Greenspun forum, and keep this one passworded, as we don't want prying eyes reading our mean old archives.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Oh yes, clearly. This MATH forum is just that. Strictly MATH.

Allison Lowe. Paging. Miss Allison Lowe. Allison, please come in.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I'm trying to write an update on SaTC, and it's just not coming together very well.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Perhaps if you used the words "fuck" and "cunt" a lot, it would come together better?

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

And pussy.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

What the hell are y'all talking about?

The forum idea is ok with me, although I do not relish becoming ensnared in one again for a long time. I mean, we can do it on greenspun and I'll be happy, but I hate the idea of moderating anything right now - and I don't even have anything else to DO.

Y'all, do you ever read onefatman.com? It is just the most amazing thing in the world.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Really? I think it'll be fun. We can all just link to it off our pages. I don't think you'd have to bother with moderating Al. On greenspun it shouldnt' be too hard for just a few of us to do. I could probably do it myself if no one else wanted to.

Of course, we shall see what the Berman and Lippincott think as well.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Wow. I just read "What started it all."

I've seen the link from poundy, but had never gone there.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I joined Diary-L for the gossip, dammit. And all they ever talk about is crap.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

But I had always heard Diary-L was all ABOUT gossip. Huh.

What's SaTC?

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Oh, maybe it was back in the day, but not anymore. Now they talk about stupid shit, like ramen.

SaTC=Sex and The City

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I was on diary-l for about a week before I had to unsubscribe. I couldn't take it. And what's up with that girl who dates her e-mails 1975? Weirdos.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I haven't noticed her. I hold out in hopes of some good dirt.

Al, how about these here topics:

food sports journalling pop cult regular a.k.a "unleaded"

We figured the fewer topics the better. Too bad we can't have a PoSM one.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I feel that Allison Lowe is not enthusiastic enough about the forum. Perhaps I should send her a bottle of Stoli Vanil to up the excitement potential.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Sounds fine. I hate the term pop culture, though. Of course, I cannot think of an alternative, so there you go.

I'm oot. Gotta try and look decent for when Mistah Chris come home from workin'. I's just been sittin' 'round heyah all day eatin' bon bons and the like.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Oh, me too. That won't be what we have to call it. For the magazine it was going to be "poptainment" right? We could just keep that.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I would just like to announce that it is so hot and dry in Texas that our grass is dying. Our grass. In the yard. It's true.

I like poptainment.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

I'm excited and I don't even have any stoli vanilla!

Oh yes AB, I can recall quite a few summers with dead grass.

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

Whee!

So.

Poptainment
Unleaded
something for "food"
something for "journalling"
something for "sports"

Creativness clearly abounds today. I'm out!
