Question From A Long Way Off

greenspun.com : LUSENET : David's Organic Forum : One Thread

The page of information on soil testing has a few comments specific to Australia. Does that mean my little garden in Massachusetts (USA) is not pertinent? Or can I assume that the function of each nutrient is the same all over the world? Specifically, my soil is almost pure sand (glacial) in essentially a pine forest slowly changing to oak.I want to test the soil in a new partly shady area, which will become an herb bed next spring. re question from a long way

Dave, I read a scientific article that said that koalas in a zoo in LA eat leaves they won't eat in Australia. To me this says that the soil and the climate are so different in different places that local information has to be more pertinent. David.
