When shearer and Dyer come back..

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

from wherever they are, what should happen? I was pondering this thought this morning. What is more effective should shearer start on the bench and come on as a boost to the team or should he start, try and get try and get through the whole game. There is no was he's going to be at a level of fitness to sustain a full 90 minutes so effectivley when he's knackered do we take him off? which would cause riots or do we leave him on and play with 10 1/2 men. Same goes with Dyer.

I think bringing on either of them in the second half would be a boost for the team and demoraling for the opposition. (the makem game doesn't count)

I think we should let it take time for them to come back. Let them start a couple of games on the subs bench and slowly get into the starting eleven. The last three games has shown we can play good football without them if they of course should be in the starting XI when are FULLY fit. It's better to be cautious a couple of weeks and be able to play them the rest of the season.

Syme - you could have helped with the washing up last night ;) I think that Dyer and Shearer should do several reserve games and prove their fitness before their strategic re-entry into the team is even considered...
