Mirror repoorting that he WILL sign for 10.5 million pounds with deal agreed lat night
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
will he or wont he?
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
Fancies UEFA footie then eh? I reckon the £10.M (or whatever) will include his slice. I can't really see us paying more to PSG. Maybe it's a "loyalty bonus" to be paid by us to them to him sort of thing.

Forgive my ignorance, but is he a left winger?
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
He is a left winger. Gavin doesn't like him.

Teamtwaddle carries the story that the deal is done, so we can forget all about him!

Palour next eh! Swifty?
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
just a nightmare scenario. mind you, in a strange way i think Parlour could do a job for us.
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
"i think Parlour could do a job for us"Providing that job is clearing up the mess in the loos after a big curry night, that would be fine.

Robert scored in the Intertoto so he'll be cup tied so he'll miss out on winning the Uefa Cup with us. The new Alex Bruce then ?
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
I think that if he signs he'll be able to play for us in the UEFA Cup, but not the final of the Intertoto. The Intertoto is considered like a sort of preliminary tournament.

Several sites, including Bloomberg and the Independant, are now carrying the story that the deal for Laurent Robert is all but complete at £10.5mm, with Robert to earn £25k per week. Can't find any mention of his contract duration.

IF he signs then I think we are going places. Roberts has conducted himself very well during this transfer saga and has never said anything but good about Newcastle. This sorts out our left sided problem. Coupled with last nights performance, I saw movement from the lads that I haven't seen for four seasons, I'm really excited about the upcoming season.Of course he could still not sign and then Munich beat us at St James, then I'll be concerned about the coming season. Ah, the life of a toon supporter ;-)

BobbyYou're thinking of a Parlour maid.
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
Clarky, I've seen the contract is for four years. McBeth, does this mean he is Robert the Bruce?
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
Nah, mate. I'm thinking of the twat who got his 1st professional hattrick against us last year. F**king Charlie Dimmock lookalike cockney twat!

Theres a small piece on ICNewcastle by Alan Oliver (Under "Bobby Socks it to the ref Bre") -"* Reports that United are about to sign French striker Laurent Robert from Paris St Germain are not correct."
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
Alan Oliver knows all about inaccuracies...
-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001
To be honest i know very little about Robert. Somebody who seen him play? I've seen him just a couple of times and he did impress me. I reckon he gets injured if he comes to St.James.....
