First Chromogenic Pics

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

A few days ago there was a discussion about chromogenic film and a few people wanted to see some pictures. The topic is mid-page so I decided to start a new thread. I used Ilford XP-2 Super and was very satisfied with the results. All taken with a IIIc and multiple lenses. I don't have a web page so I have a link to another forum where photos can be posted. Nice open shadows on #1. (I wonder if that has anything to do with a vintage lens with lower contrast, such as you might be using on your IIIC? Then again, #2 has nice contrast, which sort of argues against that idea. Nice, artsy composition. Good going!

Hi, Gerry Good that you posted some images. I'm afraid that I tend to react more to the aesthetical side of what I see (under my personal aesthetical parameters, of course) than to the technical qualities of the craft but regarding your images I like them and think that your technique is clean and matured otherwise they wouldn't look the same as well. In sumary: I really enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing. By the way: I found that the Photo.Net site is easier to manage than the one you used for posting. It could be worth to have a look into it if you haven't yet. Regards and have fun. -Iván

Good eye, Gerry! I really like your shots. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy the XP-2 and prepare for an amazing experience when printing it on a dedicated b&w baryth paper. Cheers, Lutz
