Probably the same people who were pretending to be at Celtic Park yesterday..

Well i can honestly say i was there last night along with 4000-5000 Sunderland fans. This from an allocation of 6000.Top class stadium but the area is like benwell except its about 10 times worse! If you are interested in why the celtic fans did not turn up,it was because they could not get in for free with their season tickets where as they usually can for friendlies.I thought it was just us that needed bribing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in fairness, I think Celtic are far less excited about playing English clubs than English clubs are about playing Celtic..they probably also get bored of English clubs claiming to have a special relationship with Celtic.

-- Anonymous, July 25, 2001

Cant see what the fuss is about meself. They would not get in the top 10 in England for me.Besides who in their right mind would want a special relationship with people who openly support terrorists? Oops is that terrorist-ist?????????

-- Anonymous, July 25, 2001

look at it as pre season friendly

like at Mansfield and Celtic

oops

you lot were saying on RTG that we would get stuffed

now they are shite

stick to the same hymn book

"Well, in fairness, I think Celtic are far less excited about playing English clubs than English clubs are about playing Celtic"

Christ Dougal, It's been a tour of arrogance by Celtic trying to show what a big team they'd be in a Britsh league. It's ironic that sport is one of the things that binds people together & Celtic who's fans generally are, as Superkev says, terrorist supporters who want to separate Scotland & Ulster from the union of Britain.

2,500 Kevin ,

It's true, though, Dave, the glee when an English club is playing Celtic is remarkable. In fact, a large number of Man Utd and Liverpool fans think that you can't separate support for their clubs from support for Celtic. Admittedly, they have large Irish populations but they are both big enough not to get excited about playing Celtic in friendlies.

Most of the main footy pubs in Boston are predominantly ManU and Celtic supporters. And Celtic matches shown over here(in the pubs) at least as often as MU, if not more often.

-- Anonymous, July 25, 2001

That sums up the type of fans those teams attract.

-- Anonymous, July 25, 2001

There is a branch of the celtic supporters club over here in chicago, there official home shows only celtic games, nothing else and it's packed every single game.

"That sums up the type of fans those teams attract"

Loyal..proud...loud....and without doubt WORLDWIDE.

Well I am thrilled in a recent survey Newcastle , followed by Sunder; land and then Boro attracted the largest per cent of local support in the Premiership. Not one to gloat LR but that result defeats a lot of your past arguments if I remember correctly. Friend of mine at work runs and very efficiently I may add a Celtic Supporters Club named The Buchan Bhoys , they fill 2 buses for each game , have family BBQ and fundraising events to raise money for their expenses but most goes to charity. His son was involved in a road accident a few years back aged 13 , critically ill in hospital, for weeks , when Celtic travel up tp play Aberdeen they always pay a visit to the sick kids and Tommy Burns brought the whole squad into the ward over the New Year, Christopher improved and later was released from the sick kids at the ARI, Now why I don`t agree that buses of local fans by-pass Aberdeen heading for Glasgow each week aka Man U, I can understand their feeling but any argument I have with a Tim or a Hun I am one step ahead cos that`s the one that always comes up, BTW Kev First time in Glasgow was it, ah City of Culture, 199-? , luvverly friendly people, you must have felt at home there.

Well buggame. LR. BGood to hear from you. Where have you been? To Singapore to see the girls take on the pride of Asia?

What about a match report?

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

I remember as a kid being able to buy a Sunderland hat with either Celtic or Rangers on the reverse side and shouting matches where half of the Fulwell end would be shouting for "Rangers", the other half for "Celtic".

Sectarianism lives in the NE.

It's everywhere, ML. Which hat did you get, btw?

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

Buff....that's not the argument. Sure you North Easterners support in the majority yer local club, but you really have little choice.

Yer MADE (forced) to by the protocols set by generations of "Geordies" before you and also the mythical beast that is a Newcastle fan (ALWAYS there, ALWAYS loud..hee hee) allegedly. It also helps yer "local" count when there is not another decent team fer MILES AND MILES :-)

I used to live in Glasgow and I have no gripes about East End Celtic support, but no one cares two hoots (mon) about the thousands of Rangers and Celtic fans leaving Helensburugh each week.....by-passing Dumbarton, Clydebank, Partick Thistle and one or two more no doubt.

BTW...I enjoyed yer win last night...I even jumped outa my seat when you won the penalty.

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

As opposed to jumping on the bandwagon LR ;-) I'll fetch me coat, no need to hold the door for me, I'll gan through the winda.

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

But Syme.....when I jumped on it was kangarooing down the road...nowadays ya gotta be Linford Christie to get on it...Champions!! hee hee

:-)

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

I knaa, ah woz awnly yanking yer chain LR. Did you win the tournament in the far east then? so what is that then champions of singapore?

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

To be honest syme...these games interest me little. I have been reading the reports and it seems all 4 of our strikers are fighting like dogs for places. Ole has bagged a few as has Andy Cole, Dwight and Van Nippleroy. I treat these games as I treat Charity Shields...meaningless.

Roll on the season

-- Anonymous, July 26, 2001

I reckon yer well on yer way to being converted to the true faith LR.
You know it makes sense: you can't resist it for ever: come on in bonny lad - get your name on the waiting list (viz: a time-ordered list of fans wanting a season ticket who can't get one at this particular time)!

;-{)

Stop it Clarky :-)

-- Anonymous, July 27, 2001

LR - good to hear from you again. I got a note from a mate the other day and his daughter has a dutch friend who said her cousin was going to work in Manchester. After a bit more discussion between the girls, it appears that the cousin was no less than RvN. "Going to work in Manchester". I like that for a class bit of understatement. She obviously has high hopes he won't be going on the social ;-)
