Actually DSS, after that mistake in the game against 'pool 2nd string nickers (??), he seemed to settle doon and played quite well. Also had a decent run oot at KP when I saw him a few weeks later. But I think he's a bit short for a fullback (OK Syme??), espesh if we have Griff on the other flank. Could leave us exposed to the crosses - so nowt new there then, eh?

I was talking to a Darlington fan last week (in Warrington - don't ask) he reckoned Bernard is very good and would have him back tomorrow.

Whether he can transcend the gap from South Durham to Tyneside remains to be seen.
