Kodachrome Processing

Does anybody know where to get Kodachrome processed in NYC? I know that most labs send it to Kodak, but I'd like to know what my options are.

My lab tells me all Kodachrome is processed by Kodak.

All roads lead to Rome or Rochester.

Kodak in Fairlawn NJ is where all NYC K'chromes get processed.

I've had good luck with BWC in Miami Beach for all Kodachrome processing. They were recommended to me by Kodak. You may contact them at: BWC Chrome Lab, 233 11th Street, Miami Beach, Florida 33139 Tel: 305-534-4454 or 800-292-3664. You can check them out on the web at http://www.bwc.net

there are like 10 labs that are independent of kodak (not run by kodak) in the us, and most likely the world, that are authorised to do it. i understand that there was also litigation that caused that to happen, as it was a monopoly.

one of them is a & i in LA which is supposed to be great. i have my stuff done by kodak locally (seattle) with like a 1 day turnaround!

. you can bet that if it's an indy lab, they'll do a good job. if in nyc, i'd imagine that duggal, if anyone, could do it. i'd also guess that anybody who has a contract with kodak for snapshots just gets kodak to do it. you cannot just frive up to the labs and drop off, though.

i just wished i discovered kodachrome earlier...

good luck,

kenny

I think that Duggal use a fast courier process to Fairlawn that offers a one day turnaround - this is what happens in all of the pro labs I have used or seen in NYC, but I am not saying categorically that there is no independent K-14 processing in NYC. By the way, Fairlawn is pretty good - all pro labs have some issues in my experience. Many (all?) E6 labs have fingerprint problems - Fairlawn seems to not have this problem - occasionally you get a roll that is a bit dirty though - but you can also get this at any E6 pro lab too.
