Nike Recalls Thousands Of Shoes More 'Trunner' Models Causing Injury BEAVERTON, Ore., 10:12 a.m. EDT July 23, 2001 -- Nike Inc. has voluntarily recalled more than 400,000 pairs of cross-training shoes.

A thin, metallic strip on the outside heel of Nike's Jordan Trunner Bubble has reportedly caused at least six injuries.

Besides the Bubble, other models included in the recall are the Trunner, mid-Trunner and Trunner 2000.

The shoes were sold from July 1999 through this month.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled two other Trunner models in February because of the same safety hazard.

Nike spokespeople say that free replacement shoes will be will offered. Customers can call (800) 344-6453 or visit www.Nikebiz.com for more information.
