Snake Cuts Power For 2,200 In Harrah, McCloud Service Restored By 3 P.M. HARRAH, Okla., 3:35 p.m. CDT July 23, 2001 -- About 2,200 electric customers near Harrah and McCloud are without power this afternoon.

Officials said that a short at a substation near Harrah caused the outage that's also affecting an Indian-operated casino and a gas station. The short occurred about noon in the rural area east of Oklahoma City.

The substation is operated by the Canadian Valley Co-Op and officials restored power before 3 p.m.

Company officials said that a snake crawling in the substation caused the outage.
