I'm an internal consultant at Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation. We are well into our 3rd year of team development. We've modeled our approach from Kimball Fisher's book "Leading Self Directed Work Teams" plus we've used good common sense. We are doing well. We are looking for EXCELLENT self directed work team organizations to benchmark with, organizations that are recognized for their approach. We want to have our people see some excellent teams in action. Looking for mature organizations who have the teams doing most of what the traditional supervisor has done in the past, perhaps stretching beyond that. A union environment would be a HUGE plus.
