My German friends reliably inform me that having watched both teams last season Newcastle are the better of the two sides. I predict a 2 - 1 away win for us followed by a similar score at home.

There team is ageing, Tomas Hasler is there main man, although they do have a decent Norwegian eric Mykland(? sp) and a resonable goal scoreer, maximillian or something he's called. But all in all they aren't up to premier league standard, they would struggle in our league.

They come from a league that has the current european champions in it and almost qualified for the champs league themselves last year...they struggled last year but we've struggled for longer than that.....

The top 4 or 5 clubs in the Bundesliga are good clubs, but the rest are fairly poor and would struggle in the premier league.

I think we should stop playing up these sides and see them for what they are .....

Difficult: I can see it being Roma all over again with a penalty deciding things one way or the other.

We might catch them out early on as their entire midfield will have been practising hurling themselves screaming through the air on the faintest of touches but our non-existent midfield will bamboozle them. Some quick thinking should release someone into the box before they have learned how to cope with our non-physical presence.

On the plus side, Thomas Hassler is one of my all time favourite players so if he's still about at 873 or whatever he is, we'll still see some class. Nobby might learn how to take a real corner.
