Young Ashtonernandez is the son of none other than the ex-Newcastle striker Mirandinha who played for the Toon from 1987 to 1990 scoring 23 goals in 55 appearances.

Of his son Mirandinha said: "He is an exciting prospect and he is available on a free transfer. I'm sure he will follow in my footsteps by playing for Brazil.

"My dream is that he makes his name in the English Leagues because I consider them to be the best in the world."
