Saw the game and can conclude some things: he is way too lightweight to play back to goal, loses possesion too easily and scores funny goals (;-) apart from these grossly unfair slights on a toon legend he got my 100% support in the b and w

what did you guys reckon?

also, i also believe that it should be a FIFA rule that only really good players should wear RED, BLUE, YELLOW WHITE OR SILVER boots.

Swift, could it be so that semi-good players would wear Red and world- class Silver? All depending on 'FIFA's player rankings'. I'd say blue boots for Bellamy. And maybe a paperbag over his head.

Lost every ball given to him in the first half and accidentally scored, perfect signing for us...

he wasn't the only one who lost the ball

I thought Shola and Lua Lua were poor too.

screach liked the look of Lua Lua, i think Shola is close to being a top player, he just needs a bit more drive and urgency

I'm with Dougs....thought Shola looked VERY poor....and i'm not just talking about that laughable one on one....

Let's hope that Bellamy has a golden boot at the end of the season shall we? :-)

Lua Lua is the business. It was a relief when he came on because he is prepared to take players on and make things happen. When he had the ball there was a buzz and more than one defender felt obliged to close in on him, thus creating space around him. That is class. The fact that nothing came of it on Saturday is neither here nor there. IT WILL.

i like lua2

Quite harsh on Shola. I thought he looked quite awkward, in a positive way. He's not the type to dominate the box, but his movement and some of his touches were good.

Bellamy...again good mobility, some clumsy touches. Don't think it matters that he's not a physical powerhouse - we've got Cort and Shearer for that type of game. I see him more as a Beardlsey type, with more pace but seemingly not nearly such a good touch. All in all, with Luax2 we've got a lot more variety in types of players upfront.

but where is the guy to smack the damn thing at the goal?

I watched the game in the presence of a Coventry fan who could be heard spitting and hissing in rage from a good 6 yards behind me every time that wor lad Bellers was on screen. I mentioned casually that he must be a bit disappointed to lose such a stellar talent for such an important season. His unprintable reply seemed to suggest that the young fellow is less than well-loved in his previous stamping ground. His reaction when the goal went in was particularly memorable...:)

A Bellamy Watch is apparently just like a Mickey Mouse one only the hands wander about in a random manner and it only tells the time by accident.
