Hurt Feelings

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Well I noticed that a lot of people have hurt feelings because of the forum being closed. CS thread. I feel really bad but I do think it would be open season on us without a closed site.

This reminds me when I tried out for the glee club in junior high. I belted out America the beautiful. Well they turned me down! I was crushed! A lot of dumb kids got accepted making it worse! Anyway I moped for about a week till my big brother grabbed me by the neck amd told me the reason I was rejected was because I couldn't sing worth a shit!!! I felt better after that.

That story has nothing to do with the forun closing except we all have hurt feeling.

Question is: How are other people feeling about the CS post or......Someone have a glee club story to share?.......Kirk

Well Kirk,

We were all sitting at our desks in Catholic School. I did not like Catholic School. We had to sing right there sitting at our desks while the nuns walked up and down each and every row listening to us. They never ever picked me to sing in church. Oh well......I was still the tetherball champ!

Ah Yes! We have all been on both sides of those closed doors! Feels good when you are in, feels bad when you are out. But sometimes, you are getting left out of something that you really shouldn't have been a part of anyhow . Whats that country song? "Thank God for unanswered prayers". Yah, sometimes it's like that.

I do feel bad about those who are hurt because they were left out. I hope that they can find a home in the new forum. Tren

Do you remember the Aesop's fable entitled "Sour Grapes" about the fox trying and trying to jump and reach the sweet juicy grapes hanging lushly on the vines, and finally giving up in disgust and saying that they would have been too sour anyway???

Same principal applies today!!!

Yep, Annie that pretty much hits the nail on the head, doesn't it. Guess it's a form of self preservation that we all have practiced at one time or the other. TRen

Yeah, I was thinking about the Aesop's fable about the Fox and the Grapes last night too. Had another sleepless night mulling on this (well, it's darn hot and humid too, 100% humidity, and the temps are going around 90 every day!). I worry too much about things like that, I know, I know. Maybe it's the humidity and heat that are making people prickly. I'm still trying to get around to learning that it's not my job to try and make everyone happy and play nice together...
