Salty Soup? Oops, if you accidentally add too much salt to soup you are cooking, you can salvage it by dropping in several slices of raw potato. They will absorb some of the salt and when the slices are soft, remove them

I usually add more water, ingredients and seasoning. I've heard this potato tip before--has anyone actually tried it and does it work?

yes, it does work, and no..not for potatoe soup!!! another thing..if you have alot of grease, or animal fat, you can float a piece of bread over the soup, or stew or chili, and the bread sucks up all the grease you don't want to be eating!
